Wisdom of the Mirror

For thousands of years, humans have been using mirrors. You most likely don't go for a week without consulting the thing.
Maybe mirrors should have memory and maybe they should tell us what happened to the person who used the same make up we are on today. Perhaps the mirror is just wise and doesn't want us to bother ourselves with that or perhaps it's just stupid and has no idea what's going on.
Either way, the mirror sees it all and tells nothing at all, it's like the custodian of your reflections. One time or another, it stares you right in your face and says "Yes, that's you, you will look different in 10 years and I won't have to remember how you looked today"
It will not guide you, it won't applaud you, it won't punish you, it let's you do everything to yourself while staring back at you... whatever you push to it, it pushes back at you, that could be the wisdom of the mirror.
When smart mirrors come to life, maybe humans will tap into their knowledge and for every pimple that pops up on your face, they will know which product to recommend but then they won't be wise anymore, will they?
