The Reminisce Room

A few years ago, my friend said to me, "We all are servants of our own personalities, no matter what shows up in our way, we respond according to who we are". I never believed him, how can a calm bee remain calm when their honey home is being ruined? I created a reminisce room, a space and time I could use to validate his theory.
You will not find a reminisce room in your institution, organisation or home, no, this could be any space to remind you who you have been, is now and internationally plan to become. By remind self I mean fondly, applaud self for the stuff done right, forgive self for the mistakes and learn while at it.
I used to have these sessions monthly until I went back to school and forgot all about it, just like I stopped cycling, going out for movies and the road trips, the evening classes became excuses for packing all the stuff I used to enjoy doing and with that, a part of me started bleeding.
Last weekend, I reinstated the reminisce room and so far, am starting to think my friend was somehow right, everything I have done lately, I did it in autopilot mode, how could I have thought things through when work wanted, school needed, friendships required and feiraville asked for. The right and wrong turns I made in autopilot turns out to be my ingrained self, it has turned out to be the easiest self learning year.
I don't really know whether my friend's statement is true, all I know is it helped me learn myself and finally I know what to adjust. If you do have time, take his challenge, it might be the best you do in a while.
Happy Reminisce!
