Prevention is better than cure
Despite all signs indicating her marriage was toxic and could not turn any better, Joyce decided to still persist on been a wife. Her mother told her many times to leave that hostile environment but she felt it could be such an embarrassment to go back to her mothers house after a failed marriage.

She was dead inside because she was beaten everyday. Beating was the order of the day.

Her sister called her, they had a conversation of which the sister offered to open a job for her in another county to hide the so called embarrassment. The sister didn't know that conversation was the last one with her sister

On the fateful night her sister the mother of three, was killed in cold blood by the person she loved so much (husband).
