For the last 19 months, Kenyan has been controlled by curfew and limited to how far we could venture. But the moment our President announced that the existing curfew had been lifted all sorts of hilarious antics began.
Kenyan youth immediately began planning their outbound trips. Although these trips were unnecessary many felt the need to avenge their homestay. Online stories of young men finding traveling chairs to go visit a police station. A planned visit to roadblocks just to remind the police that they no longer need to be home early. But the most foolish of them was a midnight date with their parents to present the moonlight.
The majority of these freedom tactics are foolish but at the same time exhilarating. The rest of us still stuck at home wondering what to do have been referred to as house bulbs. But remember as we laugh at the antics the young are taking, let's promote safety. COVID did not become extinct with the lifting of the curfew it is now up to me and you to protect each other.
