The excessive use of smartphones is raising serious concerns for health and educational authorities due to the negative effects of such use. The use of smartphones has created our ability to communicate effectively and associate. Although the benefits of smartphone use are undeniable it can have a consequence on our personal lives.
The use of smartphones has interfered with the way we associate in society. So below are the impacts of the long-term use of smartphones
1. Addiction
When looking at the addictive nature of smartphones it's clear that prolonged use of smartphones can create an uneven attachment. The attachment leads to one always feeling the need to have a smartphone with her. This leads to an inability to exist without a phone. The absence of a phone has in some cases been associated with depression. It is therefore necessary to limit our use of smartphones to avoid attachment.
2. Social disassociation
Smartphones often create an online system of association in which the majority of people find it hard to let go of their phones during their days. Often individuals end up unable to associate with face-to-face relationships. This often leads to strained family relationships.
Although phones help bridge the gap in society it is important to note that everything good has its limit. Therefore we need to find ways to have digital detox. This will help establish better functionality as well as rebuild relationships.
