Those Beautiful Doves

A few days ago, I took a gratitude walk, I was observing and listening to one event at a time till I found a bevy of doves feeding and the walk turned into a sit and watch. In the beginning, they were just a couple of them, beautiful and clean as they can be.
More and more kept joining, I think they must have been over 20 of them, I wasn't keen on the count but on the way they walked along, ate along and the glances they passed each other as they fed. It was quite clear they were in harmony.
The leaving is what left me in awe, some guy showed up and immediately they all flew away, all in the same direction, my direction. I have no idea if it was their instincts that guided them my way, maybe they've been watching me too and thought I was harmless or maybe they thought the other guy was out to attack them. I have no idea at all, what I know is they joined apart and they left together and into the same direction.
This makes me wonder, does being together for far too long incline us to make exactly the same choices when an urgent call come calling or we just trust each other enough and follow the decision made by one of us. Perhaps, all I know is for a moment those birds had exactly the same knowledge about their situation and they took off together, in the same direction and time and that can mean something. Doesn't it?
