The never-ending scar
Scars are marks that last a lifetime but often fade through time. A scar can be a friend or an enemy. As we go through life many make decisions using two thought processes. The experience they have had or from the point of benefit. Each day as people go through life trying their best to ensure all experiences they have are beneficial and happy. But the reality is scarring and tends to be involved in how we choose to go forward.
This scared tend to raise a sense of awareness that The years or misgivings. It creates a shell that separates us from anything that may scar us again. This fear is often associated with post-traumatic stress. Individuals dealing with such fear tend to avoid any association with factors that may harm them. This often involves fear of relationships, fear of traveling, flying, leaving the house, electricity, as well as dissociation from people.
For instance, three years ago a few friends were on a safari going to a wedding. It was a great trip after college going to support one of our own. Unfortunately, one group chose to travel drinking without a designated driver. As manifested around the rift valley we heard a big bang. We drove a few more minutes then stopped hoping to get a view of our friends. After waiting and seeing them we decided to drive back down and see them. In all our minds we believed they were safe. But this was not the case. They were injured and none of them were conscious. After the initial shock, we managed to help them to the hospital and provide the needed support. Although unconscious each of our friends was alive with minor injuries except one. She was left with a scar. The years down the line Jane has avoided traveling by all means due to the scars she received. Although scared to the face the trauma is a greater scar that associates trips to injury.
Janes story is often ignored and many feel she should get over it. But is not what we do daily. If we experience heartbreak many tend to find ways to avoid the heartbreak. Remember each scar we have can be a reminder or a lesson. Respect the scars.
