In the last week, I have realized the worst problem with the economy today is based on assumptions. As we travel through the year many factors have destabilized the lives of people but many things remained constant. The need to survive is extreme. Although we have constantly worked towards improving the situation it has not always been possible. The impact of electricity tariffs has also played a role in creating disharmony.
Over the last year, I have noted with concern that the use of electricity has increased and the need to buy larger amounts to save on time and cost has led to a majority of the household being penalized. I have been a victim of the so-called trait system.
According to electricity suppliers, a household that chooses to buy electricity in bulk is considered a high-use household while those buying in small quantities are minimal users. Although the theory of high and low usage applies to those who buy electricity of 1500 and above one thing is clear. The tariffs do not consider the increase in usage as a system of growth. The belief that households should be penalized for buying large amounts of tokens shows a disregard for economic equality. As a user, it's quite disheartening to find that my usage was considered normal when I bought 100 shillings every two days as compared to buying 1000 per month. Why establish a token system only to hurt the users?
Remember a budget does not know a tariff it only helps to plan a household.
