Drought Menace
Imagine a world where there is no food, no clean and safe drinking water, no adequate medical treatment, and, worst of all, the elected authorities has no time to solve the crisis.

This is what the villagers at Dagamra village in Magarini kilifi county have to go through.

Besides the place being in the interior parts of kilifi county ,it is cut from the rest of the county by poor and impassable roads, a lack of basic utilities such as power, and a slew of other environmental issues.

The villagers here have to go through a lot of hustle to get water. They not only have to cue under the scotching sun for hours but also have to use a lot of energy to pump water from a well.

In this world, even the pumping is based on the first come first served basis.

According to the locals, a kind Samaritan pitched in to help solve the water riddle, although he missed the mark by a whisker.

They say the drilled well turned out to be salty with a high salt content, and the water is becoming more salty as the days pass because there have been no rains.

Hunger is a major issue in many places of the world, including Kenya.

In reality, the World Food Program estimates that nearly half of Kenyans are food insecure, meaning they don't have enough food to live a healthy life while food insecurity or poor nutrition is claimed to affect 32% of the population.

Kenya's coastal region is one of the hardest afflicted by hunger in the country.

Recurrent droughts, according to the World Food Programme (WFP), are the main cause.

End.
